What's New in DOCOpalette

The latest features, improvements and important changes in DOCOpalette.

Version 8.0.0-test.5 (2026-10-13)

What's New

Template Upgrade Required

This release introduces a new Photoshop layer-naming convention for Fill and Verbatim exports. Existing templates and Photoshop files must be migrated before use.

Run DLPEMigrateTemplateNaming to update legacy files, then save the migrated files. See the Upgrade Notes below for details.

Flexible Exports

Export hatches as solid fills, linework, or both.

Layout Reuse

Base layouts on other layouts to keep multiple pages in sync.

Linked Photoshop Layers

Use linked layers in Smart Objects to access Photoshop filters and effects while synchronising with Rhino.

New File Structure

Export folders use unique IDs, allowing Photoshop files to be moved or copied between layout folders without relying on layout names.

Improvements

  • Redesigned main panel with improved icons, progress reporting and quick access to files and folders.
  • Simplified Fill and Verbatim export settings, with Verbatim configurable per detail view.
  • Duplicated viewports now retain their DOCOpalette visibility settings.
  • Faster and more reliable PDF export and Photoshop automation.

Upgrade Notes

Existing templates must be migrated before use with this release. Otherwise, layer names may not match, and unmatched layers will be placed in the UNASSIGNED group.

For existing projects:

  1. Back up your project before proceeding. Migration may not be reversible.
  2. Run DLPEMigrateTemplateNaming to migrate legacy templates and Photoshop files, then save the updated files.
  3. Run DLPEUpdateAsync to synchronise the updated files.

New projects can skip migration and use the new naming convention from the outset.

Other Additions

  • Initial Rhino 8 for Mac support.
  • English, French, German and Spanish localisation.
  • New DLPEMigrateTemplateNaming migration command.
